Overview
Silk is Netguru’s open-source design system created to support scalable product experiences across web and mobile environments.
I contributed to Silk during its early development phase — helping shape the system’s visual foundations, initial components, documentation structure, and reusable UI patterns before its public release.
My work focused primarily on defining the early visual language and component direction that later became part of the broader system as it continued evolving.

Process
Building the first foundations
Silk was developed as an evolving design system intended to grow beyond a single set of screens or components. Early work focused on establishing reusable visual foundations, documentation structure, and scalable UI patterns.
Shaping a reusable visual language
My contribution centered around the system’s early visual direction — from initial components and interface structures to consistency across spacing, typography, and interaction patterns.
Designing for long-term evolution
The process explored how a design system could remain adaptable over time, allowing future contributors to extend and evolve the system while maintaining a cohesive foundation.

Outcome
Contributed to the early visual and component foundations of Netguru’s open-source design system
Helped define reusable UI patterns, documentation structure, and the system’s initial visual language before public release
Participated in building scalable foundations that continued evolving as the design system expanded over time
